People Post

Anyone who doubted that Selena Gomez has left her child star days behind her need only pick up the new issue of Cosmopolitan. The former Wizards of Waverly Place actress appears on the front cover of the March edition.

The fresh-faced teen who got her break on the Disney Channel has been replaced with a cleavage-baring young lady just months away from her 20th birthday.

The actress and singer appears on the front cover in a pink, sleeveless dress with a plunging neckline. In the accompanying interview she gushes about being one half of a celebrity teen couple. Gomez, who is dating 17-year-old pop star Justin Bieber, tells Cosmopolitan: “I’m just like every 19-year-old girl. If you’re in love, you’re in love to the fullest, and you just want to go to the movies, hang out, and be as normal as possible. I’m fortunate that I’ve found someone who has that philosophy.”

Gomez has just finished filming her final episodes of Wizards of Waverly Place, the Disney series that for five years has enchanted children and teens around the world. Since then she has been keen to step away from her good girl image, appearing at concerts in lowcut dresses with a split cut to the hip. In 2013 she will appear in an edgy film called Spring Breakers. The movie will co-star James Franco and fellow Disney graduate Vanessa Hudgens.

Cosmopolitan is running with the daring Gomez photo just a month after the February issue that featured Dakota Fanning in a low-cut dress. The cover caused an uproar online when the 17-year-old former child star appeared, hand on hip, in a slinky, low-cut dress. The new issue of Cosmopolitan will be on US newsstands from February 7.

Backstreet Boys star Nick Carter and brother, Aaron, devastated after sibling’s death

Backstreet Boys star Nick Carter and singer Aaron Carter today paid tribute to their sister Leslie following her tragic and unexplained death yesterday at the age of 25.

She passed away in Upstate New York, but few details have been released about how she died. Like her brothers, Leslie was also a singer and she leaves behind husband Mike Ashton and their 10-month-old daughter Alyssa Jane.

“We are deeply saddened for the loss of our beloved sister, daughter, and granddaughter Leslie Carter,” the family told Access Hollywood in a statement. “Our family is grieving right now and it’s a private matter.”

They are said to have been ‘blindsided’ by the death, with a source telling Us Weekly: “The family legitimately doesn’t know what happened. They’re still trying to find out.” Nick, 32, is scheduled to take to the road with the Backstreet Boys later this spring and dedicated the upcoming tour to his sister.

His publicist Jack Ketsoyan told MailOnline: “Nick is thankful to the many people and the fans who have shared their wishes and prayers during this tragic time. We want to let the fans know the tour will go on as promised.”

Nick said: “Performing is cathartic to me and I am dedicating the rest of my tour to my sister since she loved to watch me perform.” Aaron, 24, appeared to take over Leslie’s open Facebook account, posting a message that read: “Hey this is Aaron; we are going to keep her facebook up..! i will add ppl so we keep leslie alive! we love les.”

Aaron will take leave from his role in the off-Broadway production of The Fantasticks.

George Clooney confesses to adultery…

It’s the kind of scandalous headline that would draw gasps of disbelief and send shockwaves through Hollywood.

No one would expect George Clooney to admit to adultery, especially not during a broadcasted interview. But exgirlfriends and his current one alike can breathe a sigh of relief because the actor was only eight years old at the time — and thought it meant acting like a grown-up.

George, 50, spoke about his ‘confession’ during an interview on Inside The Actors’ Studio this week, and spoke to host James Lipton about his childhood.

As a photo of an angeliclooking Clooney aged eight flashed up, he spoke about a visit to confession when he was that age. Clooney, who was raised a Roman Catholic and was an altar boy for a while, said he ended up confessing to adultery.

He said: “In second grade, you’re eight years old, and you’re going to confession once a week. You go down that list of 10 Commandments and I remember reading ‘adultery’ and I would confess to committing adultery because I thought it meant acting like an adult. I didn’t know what the hell it meant.”

George was appearing on the prestigious show to talk about his new film The Descendants, in which he has been nominated for an Oscar and a Bafta for his lead role.
