What’s trending for 2013? – Peace-Is of Bianca

Our local brands are, that’s what! PART 2

Peace-Is of Bianca — Meet Five Collectors

Name: Wayne KirkpatrickOccupation: BusinessmanI’m wearing: ‘Un-deserted’ cufflinks which feature Mohave turquoise set in sterling silver. My love affair with Peace-is of Bianca... began in 2011I support the brand because… I first saw Bianca’s jewellery in 2011 at the launch of her ‘Journey Into The Sun’ collections. I have been very impressed with her unusual creativity, originality and her great attention to detail.I have… purchased four pieces, with three as gifts and one for myself. Peaceis of Bianca has done some repair work for me as well.My favourite ‘peaces’ are from… The ‘Water lily’ collection. I purchased a gorgeous piece from it, as a gift. It’s a tumbled crystal quartz with an offset detailed pendant.Occupation: Marketing ManagerI’m wearing: Medallion earrings from the ‘Arm Me With Love’ collection and custommade Jamaica 50 bracelets. My love affair with… Peace-is of Bianca began in early 2010. I was shopping for unique jewellery to send away to a relative in London with very eclectic taste in jewellery. It seemed only natural to go to Bianca — her works are one-of-a-kind and are more expressions of art than mere jewellery.I support the brand because… Bianca creates a personal shopping experience for me during our consultations and fittings; something which you don’t typically get in a retail atmosphere. I have watched the brand evolve tremendously in a short span of time and with it the level of craftsmanship of the pieces, all of which, by the way, are guaranteed under the brand’s warranty.I have about… six pieces in my collection right now. The number has dwindled a bit, as I have had to give away a few to friends who see them and literally take them off of me.My favourite is… The commemorative ‘peace’ that was created for me to celebrate Jamaica 50. It’s a set of onyx bracelets punctuated by emerald green agates. She added 14k gold-filled dusted beads to bring it all together for a timeless appeal.Name: Ann-Marie VazOccupation: PhilanthropistI’m wearing: Jade ‘Water Lily’ necklaceMy love affair with… Peace-Is of Bianca started in November of 2011, after receiving an official invitation to the American Friends of Jamaica gala in New York . Upon accepting same I immediately decided that I would ONLY wear 100 per cent Jamaican-designed jewellery and gown. I felt that this was the perfect opportunity to showcase the immense talents of our Jamaican designers.I support the brand because… it’s made by an incredibly talented Jamaican woman. The ‘peaces’ are exquisitely crafted, timeless and beautiful. Whenever, I wear any of my Peace-is I can feel the positive energy that went into its creation!I have… 14 pieces in my collection. Some I bought and some I received as gifts. It was love at first sight! My favourite ‘peace’ is… my Jade ‘Water Lily’ necklace.Name: Simone Bowie JonesOccupation: Attorney-at-LawI’m wearing… ‘Off Land & Sea’ Necklace featuring mother-of-pearlshell slices with a grey agate centre focal point.I support the brand because… I believe Bianca’s “peaces” are truly unique. She is also one of the local designers who I support because I believe her work is of an international standard. Why pay the same amount of money for jewellery that thousands of people will buy just because of the “brand”, when I can get limited-edition jewellery made right here in Jamaica?I have about… five ‘peaces’ from her in my collection. My favourite is… the one-of-akind necklace I wore today. It’s not just one of my favourite ‘peaces’ from Bianca, but simply one of my favourite pieces of jewellery.Name: Tamara Morin-Harding Occupation: Managing Director of Agency 20Seven LtdI’m wearing… Cuff and pendant from the ‘Arm Me With Love’ collection and a custom-created ring featuring a deep fuchsia agate set in brass. My love affair with Peace-is of Bianca began… “Hmm, can’t quite remember, but it’s been a while. I believe it was Christmas 2010.I support the brand because… I will envision a piece I want to wear and either Bianca has already made it or she will make it exactly as I envisioned it. She understands my tastes very well.I have… 10 ‘peaces’ and counting. Bianca has also recreated ‘peaces’ for me as well.My favourite is… the fuchsia agate double ring Bianca designed for me.Peace-Is of Bianca is available at:

Name: Prudence Simpson

My love affair with Peace-is of Bianca began… with the launch of the brand in 2009. I was one of Bianca’s first customers: she created a beautiful pair of free-form copper statement earrings accentuated with chunks of turquoise for me.
