The piece I’m wearing is a… black mermaid-gown made from puckered fabric. I’m really excited about wearing this dress to one of the inauguration parties coming up soon.
My love affair with the Courtney Washington label began… before the Christmas holidays last year. I saw him at Market at the Lawn at Devon House. I was with my sister at the time and she was very familiar with his work.
I support the label because… his designs are amazing. I am thrilled that he’s back in Jamaica.
I have… about 10 of his pieces so far.
My favourite is… the dress I am wearing now. I think it is breathtaking.

The pieces I’m wearing are… an Ethiopian embroidered cotton dress with a fluted hemline. It was designed for me to wear at an event in London celebrating Jamaica’s 50th year of Independence. I also rocked my one-shoulder jersey-knit dress with vibrant prints. The animal-print silk halter dress is a playful piece that easily transitions from day to evening. The final piece I wore is by far my favourite piece. This is the hand-woven silk-chiffon grey dress. It is a one-of-a-kind piece that is all hand-done.
My love affair with the Courtney Washington label began… in the early summer of 2011. I came here based on the recommendation I got from a friend. I think the fabric says so much about his collections, so it was so easy for me to fall in love with the line. I also think that what makes the shopping experience even better is that Courtney is so easy to work with and he has a great personality. He is detailed and a perfectionist which is evident in all of his work. The finish of each piece, coupled with the fabric choices makes his work really great!
I support the label because… I believe in supporting local designers. His work can easily compete with any international brand. He is extremely talented, and as a result of this, it is easy for me to support him.
I have… over 20 pieces so far.
My favourite is… the grey dress I wore today. It is a stunning work of art!

The pieces I’m wearing are… two of my favourite ensembles by Courtney Washington. The first is a black silk A-line skirt paired with a draping kimono. The second is a dyed-over burlap skirt paired with silk organza tunic and tank top.
My love affair with the Courtney Washington label began… many years ago. I became familiar with his brand in New York City, so it was great to see it when I returned to Jamaica years later. I am a huge fan of his work! I just love how his clothes fit me and his cuts are excellent.
I support the label because… I believe in supporting local brands. Plus, Courtney is one of the best: the cuts, the flow, the fabrics, and the feel of each piece is superior.
I have… a whole closet full of his pieces.
My favourite is… a burlap skirt. Just the fit and flow of it is fantastic! Plus, it is from such an honest material.
