Vows – Countdown to Kingston Bridal Week

Kingston Bridal Week (KBW), produced by Intuit Concepts and slated for the week of September 22-29 at the Jamaica Pegasus Hotel, is promising an exciting exhibition of all things bridal.

The week of romance will be segmented to target different aspects of a couple’s interests ahead of their big day.

Brides-to-be in search of that dream dress at a discounted price will get their chance to find it as the week kicks off on September 22 with a ‘Super Dress Wedding Sale’ at Petals and Promises.

There’ll be a bridal retreat hosted at the Terra Nova All-Suite Hotel in Kingston — which will feature interactive workshops on the details every bride needs to know while planning the ideal wedding.

Romantic comedy lovers will enjoy the charity event/premiere of the movie Baggage Claim — starring Paula Patton — on September 24 at Palace Cineplex in Sovereign Centre. Make it a date night!

Those who have already tied the knot can also get in on the action September 25-30 by participating in the ‘Brides-for-Haiti Charity Dress Drive’, for which the organisers of KBW will be accepting donations of wedding gowns from brides and bridal shops in order to raise money for their Haiti Fund. St Joseph’s Parish Church (in Haiti) will use your donation to help support their charitable work.

The bridal consumer shows begin on September 27 and continue through to September 29 at the Jamaica Pegasus Hotel. In addition to over 100 exhibitors, fabellas can look forward to two fashion shows daily — including the highly anticipated ‘Honeymoon Shows’ segment — which will feature lingerie, resort wear, reception gowns, swimwear, and high fashion for design inspiration. This year KBW will host international swimwear designer Roger Gary, and will debut his Aqua Couture 2013 collection.

Arguably the icing on the cake, the highly anticipated event will also play host to international celebrity and bridal guru Randy Fenoli, TV star of TLC ‘s Say Yes To The Dress and Randy to the Rescue and author of It’s All About the Dress.

Fenoli will make his bridal presentation on September 28, during which time patrons will be treated to cocktails in the pre-function area and be eligible to win gifts. The Jamaica Pegasus Hotel will host a ‘Taste of Kingston: Randy’s Dinner Party’. The final day’s activities will include a thrilling ‘Trash the Dress’ demonstration with photographer Marcia E Roberts, as well as

one-on-one bridal consultations with Fenoli.
