Are you ready for a makeover? That question was posed to the Jamaica Observer’s very own Andrea ‘Betty’ Garvey, who greets the world and her fellow team members each day with the words ‘Big up yourself!’ Her charm is so infectious that when we saw her studying our fashion and beauty pages we decided there and then that Betty was going to be given a dream makeover.
Jamaica is home to the best salons, spas and beauty spots and, thankfully, the award-winning ones are a mere phone call away. Betty’s first stop was The Face Place where Managing Director Marie Hall-Smith sat her down for a skincare consultation.
Smith began by evaluating the condition of Betty’s skin to customise the best treatment option.
“There are so many factors relating to our environment, lifestyle and work habits that affect our bodies and our skin without us even realising it. Betty spends a lot of time in the sun, and this can have a harsh effect on the face, especially when it is not being balanced with hydration,” said Smith.
For Betty, Smith created a Vitamin C facial package complete with exfoliating chemicals and age-defying collagen peptide, to add plump and radiance to her skin. Smith and her team also pampered her with a funky-fresh manicure and pedicure!
