Call of the Wild
A butterfly in flight is amongst the most pleasing sights in the world. It’s a simple elegance — radiant but unobtrusive. And those are words that come to mind when we think of Lisa McIntosh’s latest collection from her NeahLis line. Fitting too, because she describes the underlying idea as a “mariposa in flight” (mariposa is Spanish for butterfly). In fact, the idea of the natural world is resonant in her latest effort, and she credits Jamaica for inspiring the “blends and mixtures and creativity” of her work. Indeed, we saw the idea come to life in her collection of wild prints, rich colours and breezy silhouettes during Saint International’s the International Mecca of Style on Saturday May 24 and at Fashion Block the following night.
