Does she want a shy guy?
When Diana King released the song Shy Guy in 1994, the merits she lauded had every woman wanting one. Yet they say women also love bad boys, and anyone who doesn’t fit into that mould will get shafted.
Are shy guys still on the radar? Do women really have a preference?
Angel, 30:
I don’t know. Shy guys tend to be more withdrawn and so it can be a bit of challenge trying to draw them out. In a relationship, the two of us have to be willing to be open. I don’t want to be doing all the work. No shy guys for me, thank you very much.
Angela, 35:
With the shortage of men out there I will take any man right about now, shy or not. He can stay in his shell, at least then I can know that he is my man and mine alone.
Danielle, 36:
Would I want a shy guy? Yes and no. In terms of relationship security, I would say yes as not many women would be going after my man. But truth be told, I would get frustrated over time as he would become like a weight around my neck. I can be demanding sometimes and if he is not strong enough to stand up to me then it doesn’t make any sense.
Sheila, 40:
I am a woman who is attracted to confidence. I don’t want a shy man, too old for that! This is not high school. Some men need to just grow up.
Erica, 30:
I don’t mind, to tell you the truth. Everyone has different personalities and so I would respect the type of person he is. But I would be lying if I didn’t tell you that I would be on the lookout for something better…
Shauna, 28:
I like guys in general whether they are shy or not. As long as he is attractive I will give him the time of day. You never can tell who could be your lifelong love.
