How would you define cheating?
Is cheating only limited to having sex with someone other than your partner? For some, cheating can occur with a mere glance, a smile, or even the thought of cheating; while for others it only involves actual physical intimacy.
How would you define cheating?
Sonia, 37:
Cheating to me is entertaining someone outside of your relationship. It doesn’t mean that the person is going to have sex, but just the fact that they are engaging in conversation or flirting with someone that they shouldn’t.
Michie, 29:
My boyfriend tells me that I tend to make a big thing over nothing, like if he smiles with someone working in customer service. But my thing is, it only takes one match to burn down a house, so it might just take one smile or kind word to start the act of cheating.
Jay, 31:
I’m going to be honest, not just as a man but also as a cheating man, cheating is not just a physical thing. It’s a mental and emotional thing. When I cheated on my most recent ex, it wasn’t because I wanted sex from another woman, it was because I needed that mental and emotional connection that I wasn’t getting. It took some time before I had sex with the girl who I cheated on my ex with because I just enjoyed her company and going out with her. It was a vibes things more than a physical attraction.
Krystal, 33:
Cheating for me is being with someone outside of being with your partner. It’s sex, texting, going out together and so on.
Jermain, 37:
This is when you have sex with another woman and your girlfriend doesn’t know about it. It is a secret love affair on the side.
Marvin, 42:
I have been cheated on and the signs that I should have seen, I didn’t. So now that I know I would say that cheating is when you become emotionally invested in someone other than your partner. To me that’s where it starts.
