Vows: Kingston Bridal Week Market

Rain could not mar the pomp and pageantry which was a culmination of week-long activities at the Kingston Bridal Week Market and Fashion Show, held at the Toyota Jamaica Showroom, 93 Old Hope Road on Sunday, October 23. The event featured over 30 of Jamaica’s leading bridal vendors and exhibitors, who displayed all the elements required to execute the perfect wedding — under a single roof. Chung’s Catering Service and Eleni’s Bakery were on hand to provide sumptuous Asian-infused menu offerings and French pastries, respectively.

Emcee Ryan Dixon conducted interviews with booth representatives and sponsors and kept patrons apprised of competitions held throughout the day. Spontaneous raffles also kept couples, eager to win one of the many weekend getaways, on their toes. The tunes spun by Black Tie Entertainment DJ Dwayne Virgo kept patrons in an upbeat mood. Entertainment was also provided by members of The Entity Ja talent group. Saxophonist Kemroy Bonfield provided romantic old hits, but it was the Positive Vibrations steel pan band that got couples showing off their dancing skills.

The foyer of the Toyota Jamaica Showroom became a veritable runway for designs from Petals & Promises, Sandi’s Selections and the ‘Likkle but Tallawah’ resort collection of Suzette Rickman.

Vows takes you inside the showroom. See more in next week’s edition of Vows
