Irie Erie Designs

Irie Erie director-designer Erin Facey, a true entrepreneur and creative soul, reveals, “The looks I go for are dependent on the mood I’m in; sometimes I want to create something subtle and classy, and the next I want to be funky and edgy. So when it comes to my designs there’s really no set ‘look’. Everything is uniquely different.”

The fashionista is currently a student at Edna Manley College of the Visual and Performing Arts and looks to others in fashion as her inspiration. “Other people in fashion truly inspire me. I love watching their fashion grow and it motivates me to do the same and to work harder in everything I do,” she shares.

This budding designer is obsessed with cutting-edge beachwear and making her clients look and feel glamorous. Her plans include expanding her brand to appeal to a male audience and to attract a larger international clientele. The business is currently online; however, a showroom is in the works.

Facey stays true to her tagline “Dare to be different” and describes her designs as trendy yet unique and definitely “Caribbean”, with her frequent use of colours and embellishments. When asked about her swimwear, the young designer beams,”It is definitely something that catches the eye.”
