Love: unequally yoked
Love should know no bounds, but in actuality, there are many factors that can affect its ability to flourish. These include social differences that make a couple unequally yoked – differences like social class.
It is possible for two classes to mix in a relationship that leads to marriage and family?
Nic:
Hell no! I am a taxi driver and the other day I picked up a white guy who was saying that he met a Jamaican girl on a dating website and he travelled all the way to Jamaica to date her. We pulled up at this apartment complex uptown and I was like zeen, looks like the general hit the jackpot. When the woman came out, she was in short tights – basically naked. She came into the car and when she opened her mouth, she was loud, and no offense here, ghetto. I know for sure that she’s going to use him because she even begged me to call some of her friends to cash in.
Rach:
That can’t work. They will have nothing in common. I just don’t see that being healthy.
Tania:
It can work if they genuinely care about each other. There is no direct formula for love. People need to stop boxing love in and leave people alone to love who they want to regardless of things like class or skin colour.
Zadianne:
No, I don’t see that working out. No rich uptown man will take his money to buy a ring to put on a downtown girl’s finger. Not happening!
