Man, the provider
The Bible says men are the heads of households, and many women are in agreement that the men should be the breadwinners, while they embrace the role of nurturers. Some go as far as to tout that a real man would not let his wife work, as it is his role to ensure all the needs of the household are met.
How do you feel about a man bringing home the bacon?
Cheryl:
There is no chance in hell that I would stay home and depend on a man to ensure that I eat and live comfortably. I would feel so worthless and like a total failure. I just wasn’t brought up like that.
Vicky:
I think life would be so much easier if only we would follow the guidance within the Bible. There is a major reason God said this. I believe strongly that it was to create order and a system designed to serve God Himself. It doesn’t mean the woman stays at home and twirls her hair around her fingers. She is expected to be a support system to her husband. It means she should allow the man full power. Always read, analyse and pray before you assume you know what God is saying.
Tammy:
I don’t think I could allow my man to work while I stay at home. I would feel bad – like I was putting too much pressure on him. I couldn’t do that.
Cara:
My man is currently the one working. I made a decision to quit my job when I became pregnant and he has no issues taking care of me. Do I intend to stay home after my baby is here? Maybe, but I am not going to stay home and be a bum.
