Dealing with an obsessive woman
Many men are of the view that once a woman becomes obsessed with a man she is crazy and insecure. But I think that when a woman displays this sort of need, it is actually revealing how she feels about that man — emotions most times based on love. If a woman displays stalker tendencies that is a different issue altogether, but if she shows her vulnerable side, a man should understand.
What categorizes as obsession?
Ryan:
My girl is past obsessed. She doesn’t even want me going anywhere without her. At first I really wanted to run as far as I could from her, but I saw that she was real and she was really in love with me. So I started to show some compassion and we’re good – going on two years together.
FT:
My girl is the jealous type so she watches my every move. Right now we are facing a possible break-up as she recently confessed that she basically bugged my phone. That kind of obsession I can live without and am happy to live without.
LR:
I think a bit of jealousy is OK, even cute, but obsession is when you’re sleeping at night and wake up to this person standing over you, staring. I’ve experienced that and trust me, it’s scary.
Peter:
I think both sexes are guilty of this kind of behaviour, depending on how deeply they fall in love. I’m not one to try to bash anyone for falling too hard, but I think things like bugging the phone and driving past the house is too much.
