All Woman FASHION: Look Cool, Feel Cool

The fashion struggle of the Caribbean woman at this time of year — the hottest months — is to not only look cool, but feel cool. Fortunately, the two don’t have to be mutually exclusive. Although options were limited, Caribbean Fashion Week (CFW) did offer a few selections from which viewers could refresh their summer wardrobes. From model Jeneil Williams’ new swimsuit collection to crisp white jumpsuits from fashion line drennaLUNA, All Woman Fashion (AWF) rounded up a few of our favourites for your perusal.

Suzilee Chambers for LeeAnn Designz debuted several new looks that branched out from the resort wear she’s typically known for. There was swimwear, but, too, clothes that could be worn outside of a casual beach context. The new pieces were seeking a balance between structure and a loose-flowing fit, making them a practical option for today’s woman in search of practicality and versatility. Many of her pieces featured the popular off-the-shoulder trend and were styled with fans and parasols.

Perhaps the most anticipated collection of CFW was the debut of Pulse model Jeneil William’s swimwear line Rogue Creations. It was the model’s turn to experience the other side of the runway as she sent her minimalist pieces out for visual consumption. The urban streetstyle that is characteristic of models was apparent in the line, which contrasted ultra-sexy cut-outs with military inspired accessories. Some of the more minimalist pieces in nudes and mustards were reminiscent of Celine’s latest collections. The highlight of the collection was a daring brown one-piece swimsuit with an associated nipple pastie.

drennaLUNA presented a series of minimalist and monochromatic pieces. AWF loved several of the all-white pieces, particularly the jumpsuits. It might be a fashion faux pas to wear white past September in the USA, but luckily for us Rock fabellas, white is a fashionable choice all year round!
