AW Fashion: The Festive Windows of Lee’s Fifth Ave

The 10 Christmas windows at Lee’s Fifth Avenue in Tropical Plaza — an impressive nine feet by 11 with one that’s 40 by 11, and another six feet by four feet — are becoming a much-anticipated feature of holiday shopping in Kingston. This year, artist Oriente Issa creates the feeling of an icy winter landscape complete with fantasy gowns against a background of snowy Christmas trees. Impressively, all the decorations were made from scratch using paper napkins, paper coffee filters, paper doilies, styrofoam cups, styrofoam filler balls, and masking tape.

All Woman Fashion (AWF) takes you window shopping and once again applauds Issa, who worked on the windows for six weeks plus — two weeks actually dressing them — for elevating the narrative around our shopping experience.

Not to be left out are those at Lee’s Sovereign Centre whose six feet by eight feet windows are equally worthy of note.
