Vows: We Call It Love!

Darnelle Augustin and Timar Francis exchanged wedding vows on Friday, December 22, 2017, at an intimate ceremony with close friends and family at Hibiscus Lodge in Ocho Rios. This, after a chance encounter at a bus stop in London where they were both living. “We were standing at the bus stop opposite to where my friend worked. I asked him his name and where he was from, which he answered. I asked him what time the tailor shop would open and that’s when he asked me for my number so he could contact me when it opened. We became fast friends… and the rest is history,” shared Darnelle.

It certainly is! The proposal took place on April 17, 2016 and the nuptials a year later in Jamaica at the Hibiscus Lodge in Ocho Rios.

Here comes the bride

Surrounded by their families and friends, Darnelle and Timar were about to embark on the most important journey of their lives. The processional began as the maid of honour, who wore a royal blue dress with silver shoes, was escorted up the aisle to Maxi Priest’s If I Gave My Heart To You by the groomsmen clad in three-piece blue suits with silver ties. With Joe’s All That I Am as her wedding march, Darnelle made her way up the aisle on the arm of her father Anthony Augustin. In a white lace dress with royal blue straps, she was a breathtaking vision.

The reception

The reception featured an intimate and playful atmosphere. The wedding party made its entrance to Popcaan’s Good Times. John Sandiford was the master of ceremonies, who introduced the newly-weds for their first dance to Chronixx’s Majesty. A sumptuous supper followed ahead of the cutting of the blue and white four-tiered cake with silver pearls designed by Sheila’s Cakes. The newly-weds and their guests danced until the wee hours of the morning.
