Vows – Love At First Sight

A simple introduction developed into friendship, courtship, then, as fate would have it, marriage. New York City Police Department (NYPD) Detective Alhagi Joof wed Tiffany Campbell, director of financial operations at World Wrestling Entertainment, on Sunday, March 31, 2018 at Royalton Blue Waters. Vows has the breakdown of how Tiffany and Alhagi became one.

How they met

The Pan-African union happened in New York where Tiffany and Alhagi met through a mutual friend, Orville Reid. The two started dating in 2015, and it was an instant connection. The rest is history.

The proposal, as told by Tiffany

We did not have much of a proposal because I always told Alhagi not to surprise me with a ring as it’s something I have to love/wear every day, and he listened. One day after work he called me and said, ‘Tiffany, meet me at the jewellery store.’

The ceremony

The ceremony took place at Royalton Blue Waters, Trelawny, on the beach under the gazebo, to represent the luxe beach theme. Tamar Campbell, assistant wedding manager at the resort, and her team handled the décor using shades of blush pink, gold and white. The gazebo was decorated with ruscus, hanging ivy, hints of hydrangeas and roses; the gold Tiffany chairs lining the aisle were garlanded with seeded eucalyptus. The bridal party walked to the altar to the melody of Drop Leaf Riddim. The bridesmaids wore Vera Wang ballet pink one-shouldered dresses with ruffles and slits, whilst the groomsmen donned black tuxedos with a satin shawl collars and bow ties from The Black Tux. Alhagi looked quite the gentleman in a white jacket and black tuxedo pants from Asos with a black bow tie and black loafers from Christian Louboutin. The strains of She’s Royal by Tarrus Riley filled the air while Tiffany made her way up the aisle. She was exquisite; radiant in a champagne sweetheart neckline and mermaid silhouette gown by Allure Bridals, Madison James Collection from Kleinfeld, in Manhattan, New York.

The reception

… took place also on the beach, under a clear-top tent lined with hanging lanterns and centred by a LED dance floor. Each guest table had a garland of greenery, seeded eucalyptus and hints of white and blush pink roses, gold lanterns, and gold-dipped votive candles. Gold cutlery added a luxurious touch. The newly-weds’ parents entered to Popcaan’s Family followed by the bridal party to Aidonia’s Genna Bounce. Tiffany and Alhagi danced their way in to Aidonia’s Yeah Yeah and If by Davido. This was followed by the couple’s first dance as husband and wife to John Legend’s All Of Me as members of the bridal party flashed sparklers. Their parents followed — dancing to Ed Sheeran’s Perfect and Major’s Why I Love You. Guests enjoyed a buffet-style dinner catered by Royalton Blue Waters and witnessed the cutting of the three-tiered Jamaican rum cake. Toasts and best wishes to the newly-weds proceeded after which the newly-weds changed into African garb. At the end, guests were asked to release wishing lanterns into the night sky.
