The best parasite detox programme
Dear Donovan,
I have been in Jamaica for two years now. I would like your advice on a course of detox to clean my body of parasites. Your advice would be greatly appreciated.
Basically a parasite is an organism that lives on or in a host organism and depends on the host for food, growth and even shelter. In a nutshell the parasite lives at the expense of its host and may cause some harm to the host. In humans these parasites may include worms, protozoans (single cell organisms) and fungi. Internal parasites usually enter our body through the foods we eat and the water we drink. However, parasites may also enter our bodies through our skin or even the air we breathe.
There are some signs and symptoms that may suggest parasites may be affecting us. These include continuous food cravings, itchy skin, foggy brain, struggle to sleep deeply, feeling irritated, anxious or depressed. Since you have only been in Jamaica for two years I would strongly suggest you do your parasite detox (cleanse) since Jamaica is a new environment with new foods, water sources, etc.
A colon cleanse is usually how we start a parasite detox. The build-up of gelatinous residue (plaque) in the colon is mainly what the parasites feed on. This plaque is usually caused by a poor diet or general build-up over time. This colon cleanse can be done by a professional or by using detox herbs like aloe vera, phylum cascara, etc. The colon cleanse will help to remove the plaque from the colon, thus changing the environment of the intestine.
After the colon cleanse it might be a good idea to do a three-to five-day juice days — this could help to starve the parasites in the intestine. The next step is to go full force into the parasite detox. The best parasite detox programme should be natural, safer and promote the health of the intestine. This programme should also wear off, kill, and prevent reinfection of the parasites.
Round worms, hookworms, tapeworms and pinworms are usually the most common parasites in humans. Parasitic herbs like black walnut, wormwood, olive leaves and garlic can be taken as a tea. However, parasitic cleansers with these ingredients can be sourced at your local health food store.
In addition, pumpkin seed, papaya juice and seeds, oregano and ginger have some anti parasitic properties. Fermented foods such as yoghurt and sauerkraut also help to control parasites.
You can do your parasitic cleanse for about two weeks and take a break. Once you have done your parasite cleanse it is important to maintain a healthy condition in your intestine. It is therefore better to eat more fruits, vegetables, vegetable juices, yoghurt, etc. It is also important to avoid or reduce processed foods, sugary foods, alcohol and wheat products. It is suggested by the professionals to do a parasite detox at least once per year. That said, a healthy diet will go a far way in keeping your parasites in check.
Good luck.
