We Inspire Women set to kick-start new year with vision board brunch

AS 2024 draws to a close, We Inspire Women is set to celebrate nine years of empowering women and girls through its signature events aimed at inspiring dreams, setting goals, and creating change. We Inspire Women will kick off the year with its annual all-inclusive vision board brunch at the Hyatt Ziva Hotel in Montego Bay on January 12, 2025.

Cortia Bingham McKenzie, founder and CEO, We Inspire Women, shared that the brunch is intended to set the tone for a year of possibilities, featuring an inspiring keynote address from Dr Tashni-Ann Dubroy, a trailblazing Jamaican who has made history in the USA being the first Jamaican black woman to chair the board for the National Association of College and University Business Officers (NACUBO). Dr Dubroy is also the first Jamaican woman to hold the role of vice president at Howard University.

Dubroy shared her enthusiasm to speak at the We Inspire Women event, noting that she believes women are unstoppable and resilient forces of change that can achieve any dream they put their mind to.

“A new year symbolises a renewed opportunity to claim everything we (as women) deserve and the We Inspire Women brunch is about tackling dreams without limits and letting our vision light a fire that inspires others to rise with you”, she said.

With women empowerment at the core of the organisation and its events, Bingham McKenzie will be presenting Cecile Levee, a celebrated entrepreneur and philanthropist, with the Gold Standard Award for her outstanding contributions to society. Reflecting on the recognition, Levee shared, “It is always such an awesome feeling to be recognised by other strong and empowered women; I feel honoured to be given this award by We Inspire Women, even as I continue to empower other women to set the ultimate gold standard for themselves in all that they do. I want to also congratulate Cortia for her dedication, consistency and passion for what she has been doing for almost a decade.”

Approaching almost a decade of the We Inspire Women movement, Bingham McKenzie reflected on her journey.

“Nine years ago, I started this journey with a simple goal: to inspire women and girls to dream big and take action. Seeing how far the We Inspire Women brand has come is a testament to having faith and believing in your purpose and calling. This year, I will continue on my mission of helping women and girls envision and manifest the best version of themselves,” she said.

Following the brunch event, We Inspire Women will kick-off its vision board high school tour, starting at Discovery Bay High School in St Ann on January 24. The tour is designed to help young girls set goals and visualise their future, and has already benefitted thousands of students across the island at numerous high schools.
