Mr Supranational Jamaica Kasheem Green to give back through Inner City Tour
Mr Supranational Jamaica 2026 Kasheem Green is hoping to inspire young people from underserved communities through his upcoming Inner City Tour 2026, an initiative combining athletics, mentorship, fashion and entertainment.
Green, a 29-year-old athlete, model, actor, screenwriter and philanthropist, was crowned Mr Supranational Jamaica in May before representing the island at the international competition in Poland.
However, his journey began in central Kingston, where he admits his surroundings once limited his ambitions.
“When I was younger, I only saw myself becoming one thing, a gangster, a rude boy,” Green told Observer Online.
He credits athletics and exposure to new experiences with transforming his outlook on life, something he now hopes to share with other young Jamaicans.
The Inner City Tour, scheduled to begin November 7, will feature community sprint competitions for children aged six to 13, teenagers aged 14 to 18, and a masters relay category.
Participating communities are expected to include central Kingston, Tel Aviv, downtown Kingston, Delacree/Three Miles, Barbican, Kingston 8 and Sligoville in St Catherine.
Successful competitors will advance to the Inner City Super Final, tentatively scheduled for December 18, with the venue still being finalised.
The event will also feature mentorship activities, entertainment, refreshments and a fashion showcase.
Hill Top Water has been confirmed as the initiative’s first sponsor, while Green is seeking additional support for transportation, sporting equipment, prizes and event production.
“I want the young people to leave with a different mindset. I want them to understand that their environment is not the limit of what they can become,” he said.
Green hopes the initiative will eventually grow beyond a sporting event into a platform for discovering and nurturing inner-city talent.
“Don’t let your environment take away your passion or make you shrink your dream,” he urged. “Keep pushing, don’t give up, believe in yourself and don’t allow where you come from to decide where you’re going.”
