Kingston teen charged with shooting incident
KINGSTON, Jamaica—An 18-year-old man is facing multiple charges following a shooting incident on Maxfield Avenue, Kingston 13, on Friday, November 21.
He has been identified as Kadeem Grocer of Metcalf Road, Kingston 13.
Grocer is charged with wounding with intent, possession of a prohibited weapon, unauthorised possession of ammunition, using a firearm to commit a felony and malicious destruction of property.
Reports from the Denham Town police are that about 8:40 pm, Grocer and his accomplices reportedly alighted from a Honda Grace motor car and opened gunfire at patrons standing on the roadway before making their escape in the area.
When the shooting subsided, two people were seen with gunshot wounds and were assisted to the hospital for treatment. It was reported that a motor vehicle was also damaged by gunfire.
Grocer, who was already in police custody for another offence, was charged after a question-and-answer session on Wednesday.
His court date is being finalised.
