Two charged in murder of cops on Waltham Park Road
KINGSTON, Jamaica— Two men have been charged in connection with the killing of two policemen on Waltham Park Road in St Andrew last month.
The two men, 20-year-old Macarius Munroe, otherwise called ‘Mackie’ from Ricketts Crescent, Kingston 13 and Junior Brown, 20, from Seaward Drive, Kingston 11, have each been charged with two counts of murder; conspiracy to commit murder; possession of prohibited weapon; possession of prohibited ammunition; and using a firearm to commit a felony.
Police said the men were charged Thursday after they were pointed out in multiple identification parades and eye witness statements, and following a thorough investigation process.
A court date for the accused has yet to be finalised.
Constables Charles Stewart and Jemarey Gordon were shot and killed along 83 Lane, Waltham Park Road on November 13 during an altercation with several men.

Reports indicated that the cops were in conversation with the men at a business place, when an altercation ensued.
During the altercation, the police said, one of the men pulled a firearm and fired several shots at both policemen, hitting them in their upper bodies. The suspects then fled the area on foot.
Following the incident, Munroe and Brown were named as suspects and held.
