KINGSTON, Jamaica—Dancehall artiste Spice is standing in solidarity with her fellow Jamaicans in the aftermath of Hurricane Melissa, dedicating her Christmas decor this year to her home country.

“This Christmas holiday, everybody knows what has been happening in Jamaica with Hurricane Melissa. I haven’t forgotten my people in Jamaica, so I decided to dedicate my Christmas this year to Jamaica,” Spice said in a captioned post on Instagram.

On her Christmas tree, the Go Down Deh singer displayed ornaments representing Jamaica’s 14 parishes, designed in the shape of the island’s map, along with praying hands and ribbons with popular Jamaican proverbs.

In keeping with her silver-and-white themed decor, the artiste also incorporated distinctly Jamaican elements, celebrating locations such as Kingston, Negril, Ocho Rios, Montego Bay and Port Antonio.

“I’m celebrating my beautiful country, Jamaica, this year. I dedicated Christmas to Jamaica. I love you guys so much, and I hope you all have a merry Christmas,” Spice added.

Spice last month donated building supplies to residents of Bethel Town in Westmoreland to help residents rebuild after Hurricane Melissa.

Category Five Hurricane Melissa made landfall in Jamaica on October 28, 2025, causing widespread flooding, landslides and extensive damage to homes and utility infrastructure, particularly across western Jamaica.

Parishes, including St Elizabeth, Westmoreland, Trelawny, St James and Hanover were among the hardest hit.

Tragically, an estimated 45 lives were lost as a result of the hurricane.
