Jamaica’s All-Schools team lose CASA final on penalties
KINGSTON, Jamaica — Jamaica’s All-Schools team was beaten on penalty kicks by Rush Academy in the final of the Caribbean Americas Soccer Association (CASA) Youth Classic at the Lauderhill Sports Complex in South Florida on Sunday.
The teams had played out a 1-1 draw in regulation before Rush FC won 3-1 from the penalty spot as the four-day tournament came to a close.
Rush FC took the lead in the 50th minute after the Jamaican goalkeeper failed to hold onto a shot from Flavio D’Angelo.
Murilo Sasso was first to respond, kicking the ball into the wide-open goal. The Jamaicans responded a minute later when Kimarly Scott dribbled down the left wing, cut inside and fired the ball into the far corner.
With the scores tied, the title was decided on penalties.
