Curfew imposed in several St Mary communities

ST MARY, Jamaica — Several St Mary communities are now under a 48-hour curfew which began at 6: 00 pm on Tuesday, February 10 and will end on Thursday.

According to police sources, the imposition of the curfews were due to the growing tension and unrest in these communities. The communities affected are Boscobel and Stewart Town in the Oracabessa police division. Strawberry Fields and sections of Nutfield in the Islington police division and sections of Oxford, Free Hill and Geddes Town.

The police are urging residents to obey the security personnel on the ground, adding that they are working towards normality and peace in these communities.
