Heart of Love V-Day show to cater to Christians

Heart of Love V-Day show to cater to Christians

KINGSTON, Jamaica — Organisers of the Heart of Love Valentine’s Day Celebrations at Starliner Seafood, Wine Bar & Grill in Plantation Cove, St Ann say the event will curate a memorable experience for Christians.

It will be headlined by Dr Carlene Davis-Cowan, along with her husband, Tommy, as emcee. Shagga Tee, as well as Desmond Davis, co-director of the event.

“Starliner is actually a restaurant that is designed in a very unique way. We had several conversations with customers who identified to us that, over the years, there has been nowhere for Christian folks to go when there are certain events or celebratory days like Valentine’s Day. They usually go out to a restaurant, have dinner, and go home with their significant other. We started thinking how nice it would be to host an event that captures a different type of audience,” Co-director Errol Henry told Observer Online.

Gates open at 7:00 pm, with dinner starting at 8:00 pm.

The 9:00 pm pre-show will run until 10:00 pm when Davis takes the stage.

Visual Vibe, a sponsor of the event, has shown their support by displaying a digital billboard featuring the headliner in Ocho Rios as a gesture of love leading up to Saturday.

“This is special for us,” her husband Tommy said. “It is no secret the life we share, being together for nearly 45 years, and true love has kept us together. Over the years, we’ve produced several love songs to include those produced by Babsy Grange. These include: Going Down To Paradise, It Must Be Love, With You, The First Word In Memory, Everything I Own, Dial My Number, Don’t Ever Change, Sweet Sensation, and Stealing Love which she’s done a remake to give an understanding of who we are by praising God.”

Cowan added that she will be doing her gospel favourites, and that her set will exemplify love in a Christian way.

“Some people question Valentine’s Day. But, the covenant of marriage and the relationship of those headed that direction is always worth celebrating. It’s honourable,” he continued.

In the meantime, Henry is imploring the public to attend for a memorable night of good food and entertainment.

“Come on out for an experience that is like none other. We have two VIP levels that include a wide variety of food, and you’ll get a free drink of your choice and a bottle of water. You’re paying one price and you’ll just be enjoying the evening with your significant other,” he said.

Tickets are available at the venue, as well as Cove Electrical Plumbing and Hardware or online.
