KINGSTON, Jamaica — Pizza Hut Jamaica will open a new restaurant in Cumberland, Portmore, as part of a $180 million investment by operator Restaurants of Jamaica (ROJ), the company said.

The location, scheduled to open in March, will be the brand’s 16th outlet in Jamaica and its second in Portmore. It will also be the third Pizza Hut restaurant in the parish of St Catherine.

ROJ Managing Director Mark Myers said the investment forms part of the company’s broader expansion strategy, which includes additional restaurant openings within the Kingston Metropolitan Area and in other growth centres across the island.

“At Pizza Hut Jamaica, we remain confident in the strength and potential of the Jamaican market,” Myers said, adding that the company’s focus remains on growth and job creation.

The Cumberland outlet will be the 11th Pizza Hut location outside Kingston and St Andrew.

Myers said the expansion strategy is aimed at increasing convenience for customers by expanding the brand’s presence in residential and commercial communities.

Restaurants of Jamaica operates the Pizza Hut franchise locally and said the new investment reflects continued demand and its long-term outlook for the Jamaican market.
