International sensations Michael Bolton, Kymani Marley, and Tarrus Riley lead the line-up for what has been dubbed An evening with Michael Bolton.

Venued at Couples Sans Souci, Ocho Rios, on May 27, some 2,000 patrons, both local and overseas, are expected to be thrilled by the musical styling of the artistes.

Tuesday’s media launch featured organisers and sponsors highlighting the many contributors working towards the event’s success.

According to chairman of the Issa Trust Foundation Paul Iss, all proceeds from the event will be used to construct the Mary Issa Paediatric and Adolescent Health Centre in Richmond, St Ann.

Organisers reported that patrons have already been showing support to the worthy cause with early-bird tickets sold out and online ticket sales going apace.

Producer of the event and CEO at Jamaica Arts Holdings Andrea Davis stated during her presentation at the launch: “We are very happy with the uptake of tickets; before we even start advertising we were sold out on early birds. So that was an encouraging sign, and we continue to see very robust sales online,” she said.

Davis said among the preparations is for a shuttle to transport guests travelling from Ocho Rios and St Mary to the venue.

Superintendent of Police David White, who is in charge of St Ann, commended the proactivity of the organisers, adding that there will be smooth flow of traffic for the event.

“For this event we have a number of officers and we are going to send them to as far as the north-south highway roundabout, White River, and the two major parking areas,” White stated.

An evening with Michael Bolton marks the third staging of the charity event to be endorsed by the Issa Trust Foundation. In previous years, St Ann’s Bay Regional and Annotto Bay hospitals have been the beneficiaries.

Singing superstar Tarrus Riley, who addressed the media launch by video link, expressed excitement at his participation in this worthwhile cause, expressing that the ensuing work will change the lives of many children across Jamaica.

“Let’s do this one for the kids. See you on May 27,” said Riley.

General manager at Couples Sans Souci Pierre Battagalia shared how grateful the resort was to also be a part of the effort.

“This is third time that Couples Sans Souci is welcoming this initiative and we are very proud and honoured to support the Issa Trust Foundation,” Battagalia stated.

Platinum sponsor Digicel Business was represented by Director of Corporate and Government Relations Joy Clark.

“This makes us excited to team up with our friends in the Issa Trust Foundation. We believe that where companies grow so too must the communities, and giving back to the community has been embedded in us,” she said.
