Glamaton promises to excite at Sting
FOR years recording artiste Glamaton aspired to perform on Sting, dubbed the Greatest One Night Dancehall/Reggae show on Earth’.
His wish is about to come true again as he is billed for the show’s December 26 staging. He first performed on the show in 2008.
Sting returns to the entertainment calendar after a seven-year absence.
“Sting is one of the biggest shows for me and other artistes, especially new artistes, to showcase their talent. It is an iconic brand and it has helped many careers over the years,” the Cayman Islands-based Glamaton told the Jamaica Observer.
Glamaton hails from St Elizabeth. He has resided in the Cayman Islands since 1990 where he has been making use of the opportunities that music has afforded him. He has recorded with producers including Slyda, J Keez Music and GT Taylor, among others.
“It has been a long and difficult journey, especially in this day and age, doing my type of music. It is a huge part of my life and helps to define who I am as a person so I am not giving up. I am also grateful for all of the opportunities I have had thus far, and I look forward to new ones,” said Glamaton.
Since 2006 Glamaton has been pursuing music professionally. He has attended the Sting stage show four times.
“My fondest memory of Sting was performing on the same night that Vybz Kartel and Mavado clashed. I received a lot of positive feedback about my performance then,” said Glamaton.
Sting takes place at Grizzly’s Plantation Cove in St Ann on Boxing Day.
“Sting is the ultimate dancehall stage show and I am happy that it’s back on the events calendar after a seven-year break. This is a show that can make or break any artiste so you know that when you’re booked for it you have to bring your A game — and that’s what I am going to do. I’m going to deliver an unforgettable performance at Sting 2022,” he promised.
The singjay’s latest single, Di Song is produced by JKeez Music.
