Jamaican shooting suspect held in Dom Rep
KINGSTON, Jamaica — A Jamaican who fled the island is now in police custody after he was deported from the Dominican Republic on Tuesday.
Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Kevin Francis confirmed that 26-year-old Bobby Bailou was remanded on arrival in the island and is at a lock-up in St Mary.
According to DSP Francis, a court date is yet to be set as a file is being prepared.
Bailou, a labourer, is charged in connection with a March 26 shooting incident in which another tradesman was injured.
Shortly after the incident a warrant was issued for Bailou’s arrest, however, he fled the island on a flight to the Dominican Republic.
On arrival in the Spanish – speaking country, Bailou was apprehended and deported.
