Island Vibz for Beenie, Nesbeth
Beenie Man

ENTERTAINERS Beenie Man and Nesbeth are among acts slated for the Island Vibz Sports Bar and Grill at Manor Park Centre in St Andrew tonight. The occasion coincides with the principal, Akelia Currie's birthday.

"It's her birthday tomorrow [today] and a lot of people rally around her because of the heart that she has, so we're just thinking that somebody with such a big heart deserves it. During corona, when nothing was happening for many bands, she decided to book them and give them something to do at her restaurant," Tracy Daley, member of the Crew Band, which is the resident band at the establishment, told the Jamaica Observer.

She anticipates that several other entertainers, with whom Currie is affiliated with, will turn out.

Daley further said that she is proud of Currie's achievements as an entrepreneur and lauded her for her kindness.

"Miss Currie has been around for quite a time…from a store front to a bigger establishment. She's always looking to do various things to bless people," she said.
