She did us proud — Yendi Phillips

Jamaica held its collective breath when our own Yendi Phillipps and Miss Mexico were the only two contestants left standing at the Miss Universe finals at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino in Las Vegas on August 23. At the end of the night Mexico took the crown but the local beauty was the queen of local hearts. She has etched her name in the history books by becoming the first ever Jamaican to achieve the second position in the Miss Universe competition. There is only one thing to say — you go girl!
