Rough Entry arrive at Caymanas Park for Mouttet Mile
Rough Entry, one of six overseas runners who arrived on the island for the ultra-rich Mouttet Mile (invitational), has completed his necessary quarantine stay at the Plumb Point Facility and is currently residing at Caymanas Park.
The US$150,000 Mouttet Mile (invitational) will be held on December 2 and will be run over one mile (1,600m). Last year’s winner was Excessive Force.
Rough Entry is a six-year-old bay horse bred by Poseidon’s Warrior out of the Indian Ocean mare Dixie Ocean. Rough Entry, who was foaled on April 30, 2017, is trained by Jamaican-bred conditioner Rohan Crichton.
Rough Entry has raced 34 times in his career, winning eight times, finished second six times, and third three times. Rough Entry‘s total career earnings are US$254,526. Rough Entry raced in seven races in 2023, winning two and finishing second in four others. His most recent race was a six-furlong Optional Claiming event at Gulfstream Park on September 23, 2023. Rough Entry, ridden by Edwin Gonzalez, won the race by a half-length in 1:10.60.
