KINGSTON, Jamaica – After a mix-up with their travel documentation, which resulted in 14 members of the Jamaica Under-17 football team to miss their flight today for the Concacaf Under-17 Championships in Guatemala, the players have now been given the green light to leave on Friday.

The junior Reggae Boyz led by head coach Merron Gordon, were scheduled to leave the island via Montego Bay, but when the team arrived at the airport, it was disclosed that the 14 members did receive their exemption letters to travel to Guatemala as the letter did not make it in time for the flight.

However, Dennis Chung general secretary of the Jamaica Football Federation, said the players have now received their exemption letters and are scheduled to depart on Friday afternoon.

The young Reggae Boyz are scheduled to open their campaign at the championships on Sunday against Cuba.

The top four teams will qualify for the Under-17 World Cup, which is scheduled for later this year.
