All schoolboy football games off till Tuesday

KINGSTON, Jamaica –All games scheduled for Saturday in the ISSA Manning and daCosta Cup competitions have been called off after the island was put under a Tropical Storm warning due to the impending period of unsteady weather.

Earlier on Friday, ISSA had moved all the games forward to start at 1:00pm but later in the day they called off the games in both competitions with the island expected to start feeling the effects of the weather system from as early as mid-day.

There were 25 games scheduled for the daCosta Cup and eight more in the Manning Cup.

Additionally, the government had ordered schools that are used as emergency shelters to be closed on at mid-day on Friday.

If the weather allows, the competitions are scheduled to resume on Tuesday, September 27.
