Blake misses out as JFF announces squad for Argentina game
KINGSTON, Jamaica — Andre Blake, the first choice goalkeeper and national captain, was omitted from the 23-man squad to face Argentina in a friendly match on September 27 announced by the Jamaican Football Federation (JFF) on Monday.
In Blake’s absence, either Dillon Barnes, Jahmali Waite, or Kemar Foster will stand between the sticks.
The defenders included in the squad are Adrian Mariappa, Richard King, Javain Brown, Jamoi Topey, Joel Latibeaudiere, Gregory Leigh, Amari’i Bell and Damian Lowe.
The midfielders in the Reggae Boyz squad are Daniel Johnson, Bobby Reid, Ravel Morrison, Kevon Lambert, Jonathan Russell and Kevin Samuel.
Michail Antonio and Leon Bailey will headline the attack and they are joined by Jamal Lowe, Kaheem Parris, Andre Gray and Shamar Nicholson.
The reserves for the national team are Maliek Howell, Ricardo Thomas, Demario Phillips, Jourdain Fletcher, Cory Burke and Coniah Boyce-Clarke.
Jamaica will take on Argentina at the Red Bull Arena in the United States.
