Bleachers to be open to the public for final days of National Championships
KINGSTON, Jamaica — Minister of Culture, Entertainment and Sport, Olivia ‘Babsy’ Grange has announced that the bleachers section of the National Stadium will be open to the public for free this weekend.
Saturday and Sunday are the final two days of the National Senior and Junior Championships which the minister has said will be “the greatest show on Earth.”
The four-day National Senior and Junior Championships got underway on Thursday and has already seen some scintillating performances on and off the track. The championships will determine the athletes who will compete at the World Championships in Eugene, Oregon in the United States of America, July 15-24, the World Athletics Under-20 Championships to be held in Cali Colombia from August 1-6 and the Commonwealth Games to be held in Birmingham, England August 1-6.
Almost 600 athletes are participating in the meet which feature 60 events for seniors and juniors.
