Body of elderly man found near Mandeville hospital

MANCHESTER, Jamaica — Police are probing the circumstances surrounding the death of an elderly man whose body was found near the Mandeville Regional Hospital Friday morning.

His identity has not yet been released.

Preliminary reports are that shortly after 8:00 am the police were called to a section of Caledonia Road, mere metres from the hospital’s entrance, after passersby stumbled on the body.

The scene was processed and the body removed to the morgue for an autopsy to determine the cause of death.
