CanEx returns for fifth staging at Montego Bay Convention Centre Sept 15-17
MONTEGO BAY, Jamaica – Following a two year hiatus as a result of the coronavirus pandemic, CanEx Jamaica Business Conference and Expo will return to the Montego Bay Convention Centre from September 15 to 17 for its fifth staging.
Over the three days, the fifth CanEx business conference and exposition will feature, among other things, a wealth of high-profile and powerful speakers, and experts to discuss a wide range of topics across the industry.
Investors, business operators, and entrepreneurs looking to venture into the lucrative cannabis industry will benefit from the participation of high value networking, discussions and marketing opportunities from international participants at the event.
The CanEx arena allows for the birth of new ideas and discoveries, which has always been the life of the conference, and this year is not expected to be any different. It will feature world-class speakers and panelists providing insights into the global direction of the industry, practical opportunities for investments, and medical advances.
Since its inception in 2016, CanEx has hosted more than 250 speakers and 5,000 attendees. In 2019 the conference hosted attendees from over 37 countries, including India, the USA, Canada, Trinidad and Tobago, Germany, and Lesotho.
St Vincent and the Grenadine’s Minister of Agriculture, Saboto Caesar, who has attended the conference in the past, is slated to return to this year’s staging.
“CanEx Jamaica continues to blaze the trail and drive the sorts of conversations and connections that we need to develop a strong and vibrant cannabis industry throughout the Caribbean. We are proud to continue to attend and support this important industry platform,” Caesar remarked.
Meanwhile, in addition to its international attendance, this year the organisers expect increased participants from across the region as more Caribbean islands have implemented or move closer to implementing legal cannabis frameworks as part of establishing an industry in their respective territories.
“We’re excited to see that more islands are moving forward to participate in the legal market to allow their citizens access to this wonderful medicine as well as to empower their citizens to enter and benefit from the growth and development that awaits this industry,” said CanEx founder, Douglas K. Gordon.
“What a lot of folks still fail to realise is that in terms of the global opportunity and how this can benefit the citizens of the Caribbean directly, we are in the very, very early stages of this industry and for me that is incredibly exciting and invigorating,” he added.
Participants can look forward to a golf tournament, an awards ceremony, and variety of cocktail events which will enhance their networking efforts.
A special Marcus Garvey Award has been included in this year’s awards ceremony.
“Attendees at the event will mix and mingle with industry members, gain insights from research breakthroughs and identify issues and challenges in the industry and ways to address same,” Gordon stated.
Over the years CanEx has featured some of the most influential individuals in the global legal cannabis industry, including Bruce Linton, Cam Battley, Steve DeAngelo and Vicente Fox, former president of Mexico.
