ST CATHERINE, Jamaica— A construction worker has been charged with several offences after he allegedly shot and killed a man at the Spanish Town bus park in St Catherine on May 27.
Charged with the murder of 26-year-old Jermaine Richards, otherwise called ‘Derby’ of Railway Premises in Spanish Town, is 29-year-old Daymione Shaw otherwise called ‘Yarro’ and ‘Derron’.
Shaw also faces charges of using an illegal firearm to commit a felony and illegal possession of a firearm and ammunition.
Reports from the Spanish Town Police are that about 6:30 am, Richards was inside the bus park when Shaw pounced on him and opened gunfire hitting him.
Richards was assisted to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
An investigation commenced and Shaw was subsequently arrested. He was charged after a question-and-answer session in the presence of his attorney.
His court date is being arranged.
