CVM touts Fan Central as the place to be during World Cup
KINGSTON, Jamaica – The atmosphere was electric at the Girl’s Guide Headquarters on Waterloo Road in St Andrew on Thursday as CVM transformed the venue into the ultimate FIFA World Cup viewing experience for football fans.
CVM, the broadcast home of the World Cup in Jamaica, introduced its Fan Central on the fifth day of the tournament, allowing fans to enjoy a party atmosphere while watching their favourite teams on big screens.
A wide array of flags decorated the venue and patrons in the comfort of recliners could enjoy the games with a cold beer.
Carlo Redwood, Chief Commercial Officer at CVM parent Verticast Media Group, told OBSERVER ONLINE that Fan Central is the perfect opportunity to encapsulate the World Cup spirit and drama in a brand new setting.
“We didn’t really want to just focus on Jamaicans experiencing the World Cup through our broadcast; we wanted them to have a place to come. You felt the vibe here today when the goal was scored and that’s the type of experience you can’t necessarily get at home by yourself. Groups of friends can come out, enjoy themselves, bring their vibes, carry their flags, represent themselves and create a different energy, “said Redwood.
Outlining activities planned for Fan Central, he said, “Each day you’ll have a sponsor that’s leading that activity on that day, you’re going to have artistes performing and you’re going to have excitement from each brand.
“Every day you’re going to feel something different in terms of the experience here from the eight brands,” Redwood said.
Verticast is the regional broadcasting rights holder of World Cup 2022.
Fan Central is set to continue until the World Cup final slated for December 18.
