ST CATHERINE, Jamaica – A 52-year-old farmer has been charged after a firearm and several rounds of ammunition were reportedly found in his possession during a police patrol in Brunswick Avenue, Spanish Town, St Catherine on September 22.
Charged is Jeffery Nizebeth, otherwise called ‘Dada' of a Brunswick Avenue, Spanish Town address.
He has been charged with possession of a prohibited weapon and unauthorised possession of ammunition.
Reports are that about 7:30 pm, the police were on patrol when Nizebeth began acting suspicious upon seeing them.
This alerted the police and prompted a search of his person.
One 9mm pistol with a magazine containing nineteen 9mm cartridges was found in his waistband.
Nizebeth was taken into custody and was subsequently charged on Monday, September 25.
