Five in custody following operations in St Catherine South
ST CATHERINE, Jamaica— Five people are in custody and 20 others detained following joint police/military operations across the Portmore Municipality on Thursday (July 14).
Reports from the St Catherine South police are that the operational activities included several targeted raids in the communities of Waterford, Gregory Park and Westchester, where over 10 pounds of ganja was seized, along with dozens of uncustomed mosquito coils, and several packs of uncustomed cigarettes.
Four people were arrested and charged for possession and dealing in ganja, one man was charged under the Fraudulent Transactions Act (Lottery Scam Act), the police said.
20 other people were also detained to be interviewed by the St Catherine South CIB, the police added.
