Husband of Guyana school teacher charged with her murder
GEORGETOWN, Guyana, CMC – The husband of a 41-year-old teacher, whose body had been found at their home on May 27, will re-appear in court on June 27 on a charge of murder.
Clarence Farley, known as ‘Junior’, Monday appeared before Magistrate Faith McGusty at the Vreed-en-Hoop Magistrate’s Court, charged with killing Omega Ault, whose body was discovered by her brother on May 27 at her Crane, West Bank, Demerara home.
Farley was arrested last Thursday at a hotel in Berbice, after being on the run for almost a week.
Media reports said Ault, a high school teacher, died as a result of multiple trauma to the head and brain haemorrhage and that she may have been killed between May 14 and 27.
Police said that the couple had been encountering marital problems.
