Kingston man charged after attempted robbery
KINGSTON, Jamaica – A 21-year-old man has been slapped with several charges following an incident on Orange Street in Kingston on Wednesday, December 14.
Charged is Rayon Baker of Smith Lane in the parish.
Baker was charged with wounding with intent, assault with intent to rob, illegal possession of firearm and ammunition.
Reports from Central police are that about 8:15 pm, Baker was a passenger in the complainant’s taxi. It is alleged that Baker pulled a firearm and demanded the vehicle, however the vehicle crashed into a utility pole.
Baker then reportedly shot the complainant and escaped in the area.
A report was made to the police and Baker was arrested at his home during an operation on Wednesday, December 28. He was later charged.
His court date is being finalised.
