Man arrested after pistol, ammo seized in Portmore

ST CATHERINE, Jamaica – A man was arrested in relation to the seizure of an illegal firearm and ammunition during an operation on Wallen Avenue, Old Braeton, Portmore in St Catherine on Monday.

Reports are that about 12:20 pm, lawmen were in the area conducting searches.

During the search, one Taurus 9mm pistol with a magazine containing ten 9mm rounds of ammunition was found inside a house.

A man, who was occupying the premises, was taken into custody in relation to this seizure.

However, his identity is being withheld pending further investigation.
