Organisers promise fun-filled Different Strokes at Wavz Beach
NEGRIL, Jamaica- Organisers of the much-anticipated Different Strokes retro party, set for Saturday, November 18 at Wavz Beach in Negril, say the event will be just as fun as previous stagings of the popular party.
Now in its 14th year, Different Strokes, a biannual event, is the longest running retro party series in western Jamaica and has been a staple event on the Negril calendar.
A night of nostalgia and good vibes is guaranteed for partygoers where nothing but the hits from the 70s, 80s and 90s from all genres are showcased.
The memory lane line-up for this staging will be Mixx Master Marvin, DJ Big Red and DJ Five and includes a live performance from veteran artiste General Degree, who made his breakthrough over 30 years ago with ‘Granny.’
“This event is mix drink inclusive, just like music there will be several choices of cocktails to choose from thus enhancing the party experience,” Sean Greenfield, an organiser of the event, told Observer Online.
“As always patrons are being encouraged to book a room for the weekend and enjoy all the best that Negril has to offer.”
Known for its high standards and quality, Different Strokes, which was started in 2009, has over the years attracted thousands of patrons from across the island and overseas.
Greenfield stressed that the November staging of the event will be of the usual high standard.
“We are going to deliver, as per usual, a stellar and dynamic experience,” he stated, adding that “patrons have grown to love and enjoy the event and at this month’s staging we will again take them on another musical journey.”
General admission for the party is $4,000 pre-sold, $5,000 at the gate; VIP$7,500 pre-sold, $9,000 at the gate.
