Pamputtae says no difference between performing at Pride Parade and Sting
Dancehall artiste Pamputtae has sought to downplay the hype surrounding her upcoming performance at Toronto’s Pride Parade, noting that it is just one of the stops on her tour of Canada.
Pamputtae likened performing at Pride to hitting the stage at Sting, noting that she doesn’t know everyone in the crowd.
“A work me a work. Me just a do me work. Me nuh have nothing bad fi seh bout the people dem. Me a do me work and God love all a wi. Just like when Sting book me, you feel like seh everybody in Sting crowd straight,” Pamputtae said
“Cause at the end of the day, me haffi pay my bills,” she added.
According to the 37-year-old, her brand is one that doesn’t support discrimination, given what she’s been through in the industry.
“Discrimination inna everything. Remember seh me come inna the music fat and them tell me seh me nah buss cause me too fat and black,” Pamputtae said.
“So, me sing for everybody,” Pamputtae added, noting that her music aims to empower others who are different from the status quo.
The ‘Goody Good’ hitmaker further shared that other stops on her Canadian tour include the country’s capital city, Ottawa as well as Calgary.
According to Pamputtae, after her tour of Canada, she will be heading to the UK, explaining that 2023 is all about expanding her career as she also prepped fans to look out for her acting debut on Netflix.
“Entertainment lives in my blood. Me can act, me can do every likkle thing. I am going to be in Champion on Netflix,” said Pamputtae.
“From me do the collab with Nicki[Minaj] things different. More people a listen to me music and I am grateful,” she added.
