KINGSTON, Jamaica – An 18-year-old man was arrested and charged with house breaking and larceny after allegedly breaking into a woman’s house on Benbow Street, Kingston 12 between Tuesday, January 31 and Wednesday, April 26.

Charged is Savion Scott otherwise called ‘Prento’ of Nelson Street, Kingston 12.

Reports from the Denham Town police are that about 8:30 pm on Tuesday January 31 a woman securely locked her home and left. When she returned to her house about 8:00 am on Wednesday, April 26, she realised that her home had been broken into and household items and toiletries valued at about $130,000.00 along with $22,000.00 were stolen.

She raised an alarm and was later informed by members of the community that Scott had broken into the house and had been advertising her belongings for sale.

She reported the matter to the police and Scott was arrested during a targeted raid on Thursday, May 11.

He was charged on Thursday, May 18 after several items belonging to the woman were allegedly found at his home.

His court date is being finalised.
