Reggae Boyz beaten by Jordan in friendly
KINGSTON, Jamaica— Jamaica’s Reggae Boyz wrapped up their pre Concacaf Gold Cup training camp in Austria with a 2-1 loss to Jordan at Wiener Neustadt Ergo Arena on Monday.
The Jamaicans, who made six changes to the starting team that had lost to Qatar on Thursday, led 1-0 at half time thanks to a penalty from Corey Burke but shambolic defending saw Jordan win only their second game in their last five friendlies.
Second half substitutes Almardi Mahmoud and Olwan Ali scored for Jordan in the second half as Jamaica extended their winless run to eight games.
Jordan pulled level in the 55th minute when Mahmoud was left unmarked at the far left post and was picked out by a cross from Suleiman Mousa before scoring from mere feet away.
Ali completed Jordan’s comeback in the 63rd minute when he completed a good move, shooting the ball through the leg of goalkeeper Andre Blake.
